The House of Representatives passed a health care bill (H.R. 3962) a week ago with a tight vote of 220-215. Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Democrats called it a victory. Many healthcare reform advocates across the country did not. Fortunately, for those disappointed with H.R. 3962, turning this bill into a law remains uncertain and buys them time to raise their voices during this serious debate.

To the Editor:

I attempted to deliver a letter on Nov. 4 from health care activists to WellPoint, Inc., a for-profit health insurance company. When WellPoint refused to accept the letter, I stood in their doorway and was arrested for criminal trespass.

My act of civil disobedience took place during a picket of WellPoint’s Syracuse offices sponsored by the Mobilization for Health Care for All, Single Payer New York, and the local chapter of Physicians for a National Health Program.

Traphagan still doesn't get it.. He is referring to his HMO's Medicare Advantage Program. This peice of work allows the "non-profit" companies to extend more coverage with less restrictions.....Guess who ultimately foots the bill. Medicare/ taxpayers. These pirates are including their loading costs, including the multimillion saleries of the CEO's, like him, and the rest of us are paying for this erxtravaganza.
